“Dangi” is one of the most primitive dynasties of the Vaidic Aryan Kshatriya Community. They have a decent and noble heredity of the remote past. The history of Dangi’s origin is as old as the history of primitive Vaidic Aryan civilization. The history of their origin is the history of far away past time which is called pre-historic era -by the historians. According to the vaidic history records Dangi community are the descendants of vaidic king Ekshwaku, the son of Vaivasvat Manu, the first Aryan king on the earth. The Hindi word ‘Dangi’ has significant meaning. The researchers like Dr. A.N. Bhattacharya and Vyash Deo, R.B. Rassel, Dr. Bhagirath Prasad Tripathi and Janak Nandan Prasad Sinha ‘Janak” have explained in their resea

rch books that ‘Dangi’ word has been derived from the Hindi word ‘Dang’ or ‘Dandak’ (Sanskrit). The word ‘Dang’ or ‘Dandak’ means a region full of forests, hills, mountains, plateaus and river valleys. In the primitive age there were Dang regions, Dang inhabitation and even Dang states in India. The ‘PADMA PURAN’ a vaidic historic volume has given a description of a primitive Dang state in Dandakaranya region named ‘Dandak Janpad Raj’ with its ruler king Danda, the son of Ekshwaku. so, the ‘Dandak Janpad Raj’ was realy a primitive Dang state of vast area full of dense forests, high and low lands, hills, mountains, plateaus and river valleys. The people of this primitive Dang state (Dandak Janpad Raj) were called Dangies. Thus, all the residents of Dang Janpad Raj-It’s rulers, Kings, dynasty and lineage are the descendants of Vaivasvat Manu and Ekshwaku. The Padma Puran’s description hints to have occurred a natural disaster in the Dandakaranya forest area. It was a terrible and sudden out break of forest fire (Dawanal) and the Dandakaranya was burnt and the state (Dandak Janpad Raj) destroyed. The people of the state left the region and migrated to the different places. Some settled near by places beside the Vindhy mountain and established new abode. Some of the courageous people migrated to Himalayan Forest region. They vigorously rooted out long and thorny grasses and sak or shal trees. They cleaned the forest of sak trees and made habitations and agriculture lands. They established their new state. Due to the forest full of sak or shal trees this new state in HImlayan region was known as Dandvanshi Shakya Gan Raj republic and its people were called Ekshwak Dangi Shakya Kshatrias. An another group of inhabitants of Dandak Janpad Raj migrated to a place full of Kol trees near the Rohari river. These people too rooted out the trees cleaned the forest and made their new state named Koliya Gan Raj and its people were known as Koliya Dangi Kshatriyas. The Buddhist histories records of Lanka say that due to internal difference some of the Shakya Kshatriyas migrated again to Pipati Kanan region full long grasses, trees, forest flowers and beautiful birds specially peacocks (Mayur) They cleaned the forest and established a new state. This new republic state was named ‘Maurya Gan Raj’ and its inhabitants were known as Dandi Maurya Kshatriyas. Certainly, emperor Chandragupta of Maurya Magadh empire was the son of elected king of this ‘Maurya Gan Rajya” of Pipli Kanan. It is important to note that emperor Chandragupta, Ashoka and all other ruler of Maurya empire were descendants of Ekshwaku and king Danda, the ruler of primitive Dandank State of Vaidic Aryans. Tiny states of Vaidic Kshatriya existing till the Mauryan time were extremely educated, cultured, brave and intellectual groups but they were threat to the monopoly of Brahmans priests. “Brihdrath” the last ruler of Vaidic Kshatriya empire (Maurya Empire) was killed in a Brahmanic conspiracy. It was really a military coupd’etate. The wicked commander -in chief Pushya Mitra having paraded entire army under the pretex of military display, killed his master Brihadrath of Maurya family who was weak of intellect. This Brahman Pushy mitra of sung dynasty was a minister and the military commander of king Brihdrath. This Pushya Mitra who was from Malwa was a great friend of Brahman Patanjali, the resident of Ujjayini and a scholar of yoga philosophy and Yagya Karma.
